The Beadwork Creative Bootcamp is a hands-on creative arts program that introduces learners to the colourful and versatile world of beadwork. Participants learn how to transform beads, threads, wires and other suitable materials into beautiful jewelry, accessories, decorations and functional products.

Through practical demonstrations and guided projects, learners explore essential beadwork skills including bead selection, colour coordination, pattern creation, threading, stringing, knotting, joining and finishing. Activities are adapted to different ages and skill levels, allowing beginners to start with simple designs before progressing to more complex patterns and original product development.

The program encourages learners to experiment with colour, shape, texture, pattern and design, helping them develop creativity, concentration, patience, fine-motor coordination and attention to detail. Learners are also introduced to the cultural significance of beadwork, particularly its role in Kenyan and African artistic traditions.

Objectives

By the end of the Bootcamp, learners will be able to:

1. Learn basic beadwork techniques such as sorting, threading, stringing, knotting, joining and finishing.
